| Something wicked this way comes. From the foggy majesty of Seattle, Washington comes Aiden, a young band who meld punk, post-hardcore and goth influences into a lethal stew that recalls the best of bands like AFI and H.I.M. With music that defies categorization, Aiden dubbed it horror rock, defining once and for all the dark lyrical influences and vital energy displayed both live and on disc. Nightmare Anatomy is Aiden’s Victory Records debut: a heavy clash of hardcore and up tempo melodies that belies songs with decidedly grim themes. |

| Artist: AIR TRAFFIC | Genre: Indie/Rock/Punk |
|
Already being tipped for great things in 2007, new British indie-rock sensations Air Traffic return with their new single ‘‘Never Even Told Me Her Name’ on October 30th. The track will lead up a four track EP of new music, and will be their first release since signing to EMI Records earlier this year. ‘Never Even Told Me Her Name’ explodes through your speakers in a breathtaking burst of addictive anthemic rock just short of three minutes that will leave you gasping for more.
Already being championed by the likes of Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq & Jo Whiley, tipped by NME, who likened the band to “Supergrass covering Little Richard,” The Fly & The Sunday Times, their debut single ‘Just Abuse Me/ Charlotte’ on Club Fandango/Fierce Panda sold out in a matter of days. The single release comes alongside a huge nationwide tour that is fast becoming one of the hottest tickets in town. The band has spent much of the summer holed up recording their highly anticipated debut album at Rockfield studios in Wales, and fans will get the first taste of these majestic songs across the dates.

| Artist: ARCHITECTS | Genre: Metal |
|
Formed in Brighton, England in 2004, Architects have spent their short time together focused on the things that really matter for an upcoming band: the music, the songs, the killer riffs - choosing to steer well clear of image-centric posturing, hair extensions and online pouting.
Drawn together by a love of heavy metal, noise and hardcore, Architects guitarists Tim Hillier-Brook and Tom Searle, drummer Dan Searle, bassist Ali "Ali Dean" Dean and vocalist Matt Johnson - have already made a considerable name for themselves on the UK underground. Racking up shows alongside the likes of Nile, God Forbid, Napalm Death, Johnny Truant and Beecher, the quintet have left punters nationwide gobsmacked and practically frothing at the mouth with their jaw dropping technical proficiency and undeniable songwriting stones.
But now, with the completion of debut album "Nightmares", the hour has arrived for Architects to take the next step. |

| Artist: BAYSIDE | Genre: Metal |
|
| Bayside formed in Long Island, NY during the winter of 2000, developing their own style based on soaring vocals, powerful guitar work and brooding lyrics from influences as diverse as The Smiths, the Smoking Popes, and Nirvana, to the Cure, Stevie Wonder and Nick Drake. The band began to tour, establishing an early fan base and drawing the attention of various tastemakers, ultimately contributing to several high profile compilations. The exposure brought Bayside to the attention of Victory Records, and in the fall of 2003 the band began recording their debut album, “Sirens and Condolences”, with producer J. Robbins of Jawbox. The release of the album drew praise from magazines like Teen People, Alternative Press and Guitar World, who called Bayside “Angular but melodic emo, with two well-arranged guitars and off-kilter vocal melodies.” |

Jay Malinowski ( Vocals )
Eon Sinclair ( Bass )
Pat Pengelly ( Drums )
On first hearing Sounding a Mosaic, Bedouin Soundclash’s sophomore release and U.S. debut on SideOneDummy Records- Produced by Darryl Jenifer, the bassist for Bad Brains, you’d be excused for thinking the trio met in Kingston, Jamaica, rather than Kingston, Ontario, about three hours outside of their hometown of Toronto….but that’s where vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Jay Malinowski, bassist Eon Sinclair and drummer Pat Pengelly first met, at University, where a shared love of reggae music in all its various forms brought them together to form a band in 2001. “We started trading records and realized we liked similar music,” says Malinowski, a painter with a prestigious Toronto gallery whose oil and wax piece adorns the cover of the album. “We never planned to play together.”
Taking their name from Israeli producer Badawi’s 1996 album, Bedouin Soundclash take the notion of culture clash to its music. The group mixes reggae, ska, dub and rock in a way that recalls not only blue-eyed predecessors like the Police and UB40, but Jamaican icons Desmond Dekker, Bob Andy, Ken Lazarus, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Junior Murvin. Produced by Darryl Jenifer, the bassist for Bad Brains, another groundbreaking band that fused hard core with reggae, Sounding a Mosaic lives up to its name. |

| Artist: DANKO JONES | Genre: Rock |
|
Danko Jones- Guitar and Vocals,
John "JC" Calabrese- Bass,
Dan Cornelius- Drums,
To compensate for a 40-hour work week, scientists recommend 50 to 60 hours of sleep per week. Must be nice Danko Jones hasnt had a nap since kindergarten. Fronting the loudest, proudest, suavest, sexiest, heaviest, heartiest power trio in the world for the past few years has been a full-time job no coffee breaks, no lunch hours, no sick days, no vacations. But he does it for you because he knows spare time is a crime close your eyes, and you lose sight of the prize.
Danko Jones unleashed album No. 3: SLEEP IS THE ENEMY in May, 2006. If 2002s BORN A LION taught us how to play the blues, and WE SWEAT BLOOD put the pedal to the metal, SLEEP IS THE ENEMY matches the menace with equally muscular melodies, making clear what the fans back home in Toronto have known since 96: Danko Jones is one of last true soul singers of our time.
SLEEP IS THE ENEMY is an album about drugs, though, of course, the only ones Danko Jones likes to ingest come with a booty, not in a bottle. But then women are the most addictive drug of them all: he knows they ruin his life, but he cant get enough of them. One minute hes giving them The Finger (and not in the nice way) but then on Invisible, he tells a certain sweetheart that Id rip my nuts off just for you (while guest vocalist John Garcia from motherfuckin Kyuss! offers moral support). No wonder the guy cant get any peace at night.
But Danko Jones uses insomnia to his advantage, harnessing all that restless energy and all those nights spent tossing and turning into uncompromising, unrelenting rock n roll music to wake up the world. If SLEEP IS THE ENEMY, then Danko Jones is your hero. |

|
Miikka Koivisto - vocals, keys
Mikko Hakila - drums
Lasse Lindfors - bass
Jussi Ylikoski - guitar
It's time for a new musical revolution. It's time for an injection of urgency and vitality back into punk rock 'n' roll ladies and gentleman, it's time for Disco Ensemble.
The word is truly out on Finland's best-kept secret and there isn't a hint of the goth or doom rock that the country is renowned for breeding in sight.
Indeed "First Aid Kit" the band's second release is an album that positively reeks of four youngsters on a mission to create music that's vibrant and over-flowing with essential punk rock dirt. It is in turns anthemic, wonderfully melodic and downright exhilarating! Recorded at Fascination Street Studio in …rebro, Sweden (Millencolin, Katatonia, Soilwork) under producer Jens Bogren's tight supervision, bringing in Hives producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt to re-record four songs has only added to this vibe.
Disco Ensemble were spawned from the quiet, non-descript town of Pori on the West Coast of Finland, where the only options for kids growing up are sport or music. While some choose ice hockey, and some choose piano lessons, four particular kids chose punk rock. Disco Ensemble - through music and message they look set to ignite on the music scene right across the globe.
Get your dancing shoes ready. |

| Artist: DUKE SPECIAL | Genre: Alternative |

Using cheese graters, wardrobe doors, pianos, harps, brass, strings and an old gramophone to record the twelve-track debut, Adventures in Gramophone is truly a musical spectacular. Duke Special is one of a kind, a unique and talented young Belfast man whose bruised romanticism and soft Northern tinged vocals are at sharp juxtaposition with his wild dreadlocks, smudged eyeliner and unfeasibly wide trousers.
On stage, Duke Special explodes into musical mayhem the battered old trademark gramophone wheezes, huge cymbals clash, egg whisks and cheese graters break free from the kitchen, a stumpf fiddle screeches and the crushed velvet covered piano thumps and tinks in unison but its the very core of the songs, his heartfelt, passionate poems, that will remain in your head long after the lights have gone down. |

America is at war and most every band is just thumping along in some blind-eyed stupor, poutin’ out some goth-disco love-to-love-ya-baby slime, inoculating us, massaging with entertainment. Erase Errata’s new album, their third, Night Life, is a look at American life with the fluorescents on. Singer/guitarist Jenny Hoyston serves up narratives that examine realities no one wants to look at: war and poverty. “I think the US can be a wonderful place and I generally stay positive,” Hoyston explains, “but it’s overwhelming to think of all the things going on under our noses and our silent concession. People are distracted from doing anything or even thinking about our country's foreign dealings, disturbing trends of corporate privilege and other
major issues. My lyrics are about the government, political disillusionment, and the things that keep us from thinking about what is really going on--being distracted by night life, consumerism and celebrity watching.” The album’s pithy title track, it’s lone line a thesis: “Night life, forget about real life.” |

| Artist: Feist | Genre: Indie / Folk / Alternative |
|
Here are the things you need to know about Feist in order to fall in love with The Reminder: she’s much more than just the torch singer leaning against the ballad with a lone spotlight on her. In a past life, she was a shouty battle of the bands teen queen in a Calgary punk band. She’s made bashful indie boys swoon with her brash riffs playing guitar with Toronto rock band By Divine Right and her shout-out fronting of Canadian indie rock genre definers Broken Social Scene. She’s stubborn and meticulous about things like the EQ level on the stereo and her long honed guitar tone. She’s been placed in the role of the most unlikely fashion icon, but mostly she’s a tomboy who doesn’t really do make-up.The cult-favoured original, raw demos (the Red Demos) for Let It Die and the Reminder included the sound of streetcars rattling along city streets. Onstage she can pivot between being the solo singer captivating a room with her guitar or take on the role of leading a band of three brothers.
You can hear all of this on The Reminder, and in some ways it’s more Feist than anything she’s done before. That’s not to say that Let It Die was a lie; quite the contrary. But it was the sound of collaboration and exploration, cocooning in a strange land with one of her best friends (Chilly Gonzales, who returns to lend a hand on The Reminder) and stripping away layers for a musical experiment unlike anything she’d ever done.
Nobody, least of all Feist, anticipated the tremendous response listeners around the world would have to Let It Die. Awards were won. Her name appeared in Best Of The Year lists. Eager bandwagon-jumpers were turned away from festival showcases. All of a sudden, a girl who was barely an unknown secret outside of Canada had top 10 radio singles filtering through malls and grocery stores. Her response? To keep touring. Thirty-three months and three continents were covered. The Reminder was written and conceptualized on the way.
Feist playing call and response with the distant chorus of a crowd. |

| Artist: FOY VANCE | Genre: Singer songwriter |
|
Every once in a while an artist emerges to shake you from your seat and touch your soul, singing as if it were the last time he would ever perform. With a distinctive, cracked, soulful voice and a skill to write profound storytelling songs, Foy Vance belongs to a calibre of artists that stands the test of time, irrespective of trends or fads, delivering heartfelt songs about the human condition that everyone can relate to.
Displaying a traditional and timeless approach to songwriting, these songs are classics in-the–making. They also showcase the wide range of Foy’s distinctive vocal style that has the ability to uplift you to the skies or make you break down in tears in a matter of seconds - from the yearning out-cry of ‘Home’ to the country-tinged ‘Stoke My Fire’ and ‘Homebird’ to the rhythm & blues immediacy of ‘Don’t Please Yourself’ and ‘Sometimes’.
Idiosyncratic as ever, Foy would find the oddest of places around the studio, whether it was the toilet, the cramped space underneath the stairs or even the store room, to record vocals and instruments that would enable him to capture a mood or a feeling and give the record a unique texture that also transcends the rawness of his live shows.
‘The whole purpose of any recording is that it represents a moment in an artist’s life and I feel that this record does exactly that for me. The idea behind the EP was to create an environment that would allow the songs to breathe. I wanted this record to sound as natural as when the songs are being played live’ Foy says. |

| Artist: Gary Numan | Genre: Electro / New Wave / Industria |
|
| After years of ridicule in the press, Numan found himself cited as "the godfather of electronic music" and an artist respected by his peers, with such musicians as Dave Grohl (of Foo Fighters), Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) and Marilyn Manson proclaiming his work an influence and recording cover versions of old Numan hits. The band Fear Factory produced a cover of "Cars" featuring a guest appearance by Numan. Nine Inch Nails covered the song "Metal" on their album Things Falling Apart. "Cars" remains Numan's most enduring song; it was a hit again in 1987 and 1996, in the latter case thanks to an appearance in an advert for Carling beer.In 2002, UK pop trio Sugababes scored a No.1 with "Freak Like Me" - a mash-up of Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me" and "Are Friends Electric" from Numan's Tubeway Army. Other musicians who have sung Numan's praises in recent years include Beck, Tricky, Queens of the Stone Age, and David Bowie. Afrika Bambaataa has also talked about the influence of Numan's music on the fledgling American DJ scene: "In the late 70s and early 80s Gary had the rhythms that DJs wanted to get hold of and people waited for his records on the dance floor." |

| Gogol Bordello, New York City’s legendary Gypsy punk band, returns with the release of “GYPSY PUNKS: Underdog World Strike,” their third album of Gypsy punk rock mayhem. Set for release on SideOneDummy in August and produced by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Jimmy Page/Robert Plant) in glorious analogue sound, “GYPSY PUNKS” is an expansive 15-track salvo that expands the band’s fusion of Gypsy punk and Slavic stomp with a touch of metal and dub-wise sound effects that pay tribute to the classic sounds of Jamaica. Singer/lyricist visionary Eugene Hutz and the rest of the Gogol collective have attained a new level of musical and lyrical intensity in their continuing cultural crusade to build a bridge between Gypsy music, rock’n’roll and other brands of rebel music from Flamenco to the perestroika punk that blossomed in Eastern Europe during the mid-‘80s. |

| Artist: Holy Fuck | Genre: Experimental / Electronica / R |
|
Little over three years ago Graham Walsh and Brian Borcherdt started Holy Fuck, a chaotic live celebration of lo-fi noise and weirdo casio-driven rock. With a rotating rhythm section consisting of some close friends and multi-talented players they were described as "Toronto's evil super group".
Without rehearsing or arranging parts prior to hitting the stage, Holy Fuck wrote the songs from their album, LP, live on tour. Each time they'd return from tour they'd check into a studio and cathartically capture the energy of the live show, recording the songs that had now taken shape. The only problem was they had too much material. A couple of unfortunate computer hard drive crashes later a good chunk of the material was lost. Maybe this was a good thing as it brought to light recording sessions that would have been otherwise overlooked, like the live satellite radio recording on Verge XM, or “Super Inuit”, taken from a live recording made while on tour with !!!. |

| Artist: Jack Penate | Genre: Alternative / Soul / Rockabill |
|
In the last six months, 22-year old Londoner Jack Peñate has made quite a name for himself. No shirker, he’s done most the hard work himself by regularly posting songs online and playing feverish live sets all over the country, resulting in him firmly positioning himself at the very forefront of the new wave of British music.
Word of mouth has spread far and wide – he’s all over the internet, recently featured in the Babyshambles & Friends video, has supported Larrikin Love, Jamie T and Lily Allen and already appeared in magazines like Dazed & Confused, i-D and Dummy - not bad for someone who hadn’t actually released a record.
The most British of voices, Jack’s finally released music on the world at the tail end of 2006. Released on burgeoning label, Young Turks (born out of the eminent London club night of the same name), Jack set his stall out for future greatness with ‘Second, Minute or Hour’, a killer track that picked up huge support on Radio One (even though only a thousand copies on vinyl were pressed, that didn't stop Jo Whiley making it her ‘Single of the Week’ and Zane Lowe declaring it to be the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ three times!).
For someone so early in his career, his pop knack is already more than evident and 2007 looks like it’s going to be quite a year for him. He’s currently recording his debut album and it could even be on the shelves in time for summer… |

There are precious few British metal bands that could count a stunning performance at the legendary Download festival, video of the week in Kerrang magazine and a live session at London`s famed Maida Vale Studios by invite of BBC Radio One as mere notches on the proverbial bedpost. Truth be told, most bands would probably view such achievements as career pinnacles, but for Brighton`s JOHNNY TRUANT its all in a months work.
'We're not a fashion band. We're not going to be compared to any of the trite nonsense that's out there now. We don't write songs to put on mix-love-tapes to your girlfriend. We don't wear makeup, paint our fingernails, or sing about rainbows and sunshine.
We've created the soundtrack to your imminent death, my friends.
After all, the English fucking perfected Rock N Roll.'
They've barely touched the underground scene and are already making waves on the live circuit large enough to have their American contemporaries glancing nervously over their shoulders with their crunching litanies.

“I always said I didn’t want to write love songs, but that was when I was young and didn’t really know what love was. So now I do write love songs – but not particularly nice ones.” – Laura Marling
Laura Marling may still be young, but she certainly isn’t dumb. The 17 year old small town girl - Eversely just outside of Reading to be exact - doesn’t just sing about love, lust and romance but of the futility of religion, self-loathing and human psychology. The latest cutesy pop-puppet on the block, she ain’t.
Laura has been writing her own songs for over five years, but admits that she only got good a year and a half ago – “when I stopped singing in an American accent.” She has since collaborated with fellow singer songwriter Thom Stone and is soon set to take on some of the members of defunct country band Captain Kick and the Cowboy Ramblers as her very own backing group – prepare to be seduced by the fresh face of folk. |

Doing things for themselves has long been Little Barrie's adage and with Stand Your Ground, they've produced a record that encapsulates this philosophy.

After a brief spell at the helm of Creation ne’r do wells The Servants in the late 1980s, he formed a band called The Auteurs who were quite plainly anything but. Flirting with infamy as the uniform daze of Britpop became a vapid dream, The Auteurs were always solely Haines’ mouthpiece and their opening account - if you remember, the gloriously recalcitrant Showgirl - had the gall to halt itself for a two second breather even before it had announced itself amongst our recent pop landscape. Shortly after this, in 1992, Luke himself signed to Hut Recordings as The Auteurs and the resultant debut album, New Wave, was short-listed for the prestigious (yeah, right – as Haines once remarked “25K, haven’t those guys ever heard of inflation?”) Mercury Music Prize. Since then Luke has released albums as The Auteurs (Now I’m A Cowboy, After Murder Park, and How I Learned To Love The Bootboys), and as Luke Haines (Christie Malry’s Own Double Entry, The Oliver Twist Manifesto, Das Capital). Another incarnation as the popular Black Box Recorder has seen Luke performing extracts from England Made Me, The Facts Of Life and Passionoia on Top Of The Pops and as the decidedly unpopular but no less magnificent Baader Meinhof on Top Of The Pops 10. And such a thing used to exist, I assure you. |

| Artist: Mayor McCa | Genre: One Man Band |
|
Previously hailed as, The One-Man-Band Singing Sensation, and now the
self-proclaimed, "Hardest Working Man in Show Business (James Brown is a
chump)", Mayor McCa(pronounced McCaw) is something of an anomaly. When
performing live he sits on a kick drum which he pounds with his right
foot. With his left foot he drops the bass along with an invention he
calls the Tambourine-Machine (copyright Mayor McCa). With his two
remaining appendages he rocks out on the electric guitar - consequently
rhythmically jiggling another of his inventions, The Maraca Wrist-Band.
To his right is his trusted sidekick, Casio Keyboard, which he tweaks
for lo-fi beats and whistles. And when he's not sucking or blowing down
harmonicas, kazoos or any other sonic contraption, he is soulfully
pushing air over his vocal chords and forming noises that portray his
most deep-felt thoughts and emotions. |

| Artist: MONEY MARK | Genre: Alternative |
|
| Money Mark is the alias of Mark Ramos-Nishita, a keyboardist whose funky, retro-flavored riffs earned him the unofficial title of the fourth Beastie Boy. Born in Detroit to a Japanese-Hawaiian father and a Chicano mother, Nishita moved to the West Coast when he was six; some years later, he hooked up with the Dust Brothers production team, and began overdubbing keyboards for the Delicious Vinyl label. While working as a handyman, Nishita accepted a job repairing the Beastie Boys' Silverlake, CA, home; soon, he became a pivotal member of the group's Grand Royal posse, and performed on both 1992's Check Your Head and 1994's Ill Communication. Recorded at his home studio, Money Mark's solo debut, Mark's Keyboard Repair -- a loose, infectious collection of fuzzy organ noodlings performed on vintage equipment -- appeared in 1995 as a set of three 10" records issued on the Los Angeles-based label Love Kit. Although the small pressing sold out almost instantly, the first record in the series found its way to Britain and the offices of Mo'Wax founder James Lavelle, who quickly flew to L.A. to meet with Nishita; a deal was struck, and Mark's Keyboard Repair was reissued in late 1995. |

Niall Richey Buckler, founder, chancellor and warmonger of Mumm-ra was born in Essex. The consequence was that fourteen years on, an idea that had been fermenting for his whole life bore consequence, a flower bloomed and the band was formed. These five unsuspecting teenagers were drawn together by a mutual disaffection for what we saw as the drudgery and boredom of various aspects of youthful culture in our school. Together, they developed a fondness for making noise and later, songs, of a kind.
They inhabit a little town called Bexhill-on-Sea, a once thriving Victorian resort on the South Coast of England that has long since slid into a small, grey existence where the elderly inexplicably congregate. But it is, if you look around, an intriguing place and as youngster eager not to slide effortlessly into the boredom they saw all around them, they found that all they needed was some imagination.
According to some, in their infancy, they were as indigestible as a cheese and gristle sandwich. But to them writing songs became something that they just had to do. Soon they found that local gigs in pubs, rowing clubs, churches and schools were beginning to be met with bemused acclaim from locals young and old.
The last six months have seen them honing what they do best – writing pop music that sweeps and sways and hopefully does justice to the music that makes them get up in the morning - the lush beauty of The Beach Boys via the pastoral quirks of The Kinks to the outer limits reached by The Beta Band and Sigur Ros. |

| Artist: MY LITTLE PROBLEM | Genre: Indie |
|
| My Little Problem originated in Simon Janes' bedroom, where his experiments in the low-fi Indie genre saw releases by Becalmed Records/Intercontinental Records and airplay by the late John Peel. His love of music and keen ear began at an early age. Encouraged by his audio dad, he learnt about production and speaker design, eventually bouncing tracks between two old tape machines. 20 years and many broken pieces of hifi later has led to the setting up of Brighton's Homesick Studios. Simon's involvement in 100 Pets (Pickled Egg) and Bonobo (Ninja Tunes) made him realise it was possible to take his studio recordings and perform them live. When asked to play a gig at Brighton Live in 2005, he turned to his friends for help... MLP is now an eight piece band featuring trumpet, lapsteel, banjo, cello and laptop sounds. |

| Artist: Reuben | Genre: Rock/Alternative/Other |
|
| Singer/guitarist Jamie and bassist Jon met when they were 13 and have been in bands together ever since. With the addition of Guy on drums they have topped the MTV2 charts, received some great press and had 3 Singles Of The Week on Radio 1. They have supported the likes of Hell Is For Heros and Mclusky. The band spent most of 2003 writing and recording new material for their debut album, surfacing only to headline a UK tour which culminated at a sold out show at London’s Garage venue. The long awaited debut album ‘Racecar Is Racecar Backwards’ (a successful metal fusion of Foo Fighters and Faith No More) came out through Xtra Mile Recordings. Over 10,000 sales to date the release of the album sparked off the success that everyone knew was on Reuben’s horizons, and that led to their nomination for a Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer. Their second album 'Very Fast Very Dangerous', produced by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro). |

When your debut single is number one in seven different countries and your album goes on to sell more than 700,000 copies, you get to choose where you record the follow-up. And having made her first album on a miniscule budget in a freezing barn in Cheshire, you might think Sandi Thom would want to go a bit more upmarket this time. But Sandi tends to do things her own way, no matter how unconventional that may be. Which is why she recorded the whole of her second album, ‘The Pink & The Lily’ in the basement of her flat in Tooting.
“I like my own surroundings,” she smiles. “And I like being in control. For me it’s about being comfortable, being able to relax and not be intimidated. In fact I probably did most of my vocals in my pyjamas – I’d get out of bed, make a cup of tea, go downstairs and just do it! And it was great having that freedom.” |

| Seafood plan to release their new album called Paper Crown King. Out September 4th. The new album will be released in the UK on Cooking Vinyl Records. The new record was recorded and produced by the band at their own London studio "Neat Science Labs." It was then lovingly mixed by the fair hands of Eli Janney of (Girls Against Boys) in New York on a very windy West28thSt. The outcome is a more focused mature sound with plenty of guitars. With a UK comeback tour under their belts and an extremely packed show at the Oxford Truck Festival, Seafood release 'Signal Sparks' their first single in 2 years and plan to tear up the touring circuit following the release of PAPER CROWN KING. |

The band are currently signed to independent record label Bieler Bros. Records.
Their style of music, although obviously being extreme music, is beyond classification. It has been self-described as ‘noisecore’ and is often labelled ‘weirdcore’. |

It's been an exciting year so far for the mighty Ox. With appearances at Beautiful Days, The Great Escape & Brighton Live under their belts, Ox are getting attention from both sides of the Atlantic. They featured on an A&R Worldwide CD in the US, culminating in a deal with a US management company (Ox have received airplay on the Rodney Bingemheimer show on KROQ and many other US radio stations). Ox released "Broken Silver" on UK tastemaker label Worst Case Scenario, and became Record of the Day on the influential industry tip sheet Recordoftheday.com. More recently, the demo of a new track posted on MySpace "Disco Love" has been attracting attention. A feature in the student-based CMU daily newsletter as ‘MySpace of the Day’ prompted a chart position on thedownloader.co.uk, and a piece in the 'Ones to Watch' section in the Fly magazine.
Their track, "Domino" also features on the cover mount CD of the August edition of Notion Magazine and OX's 'I will return(fluffy Mix)' is included in the Electracoustic compilation by Radio 1 DJ Chris Coco.
OX are changing into smallwhitelight…this name change has been coming awhile since there is another OX (Canadian alt country band) and since the discovery of a great new name.
The band are currently embarking on a bunch of new and experimental recordings with avant-garde producer Jake Rousham (The Levellers/Brakes/Electric Soft Parade)- who knows what will happen next? |

| Artist: SPARKLEHORSE | Genre: Indie |
|
Sparklehorse are a rock music group led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous.
Essentially, Linkous is Sparklehorse. Linkous records much of Sparklehorse's material in his home studio, and his vision (primarily "one of haunted beauty", wrote Kevin Caulfield) guides Sparklehorse. Drummer and multi-instrumentalist Scott Minor is a frequent collaborator.
Much of Sparklehorse's music has an introspective, melancholy feel, which Linkous credits to a chemical imbalance. His lyrics are full of odd imagery: Joe Tangari describes Linkous' songs as "defiantly surrealist ... with all manner of references to smiling babies, organ music, birds, and celestial bodies ... In fact, some of the lyrics are so surreal that it's hard to imagine they're even metaphors for anything." |

| Artist: The Automatic | Genre: Indie |

One of the most exciting new bands to have emerged from Wales in recent times, The Automatic formed in the not-very-rock 'n' roll town of Cowbridge, but their disco punk sound should easily establish them as stars.
They formed, as with so many bands, out of boredom. "There wasn't much to do for young people where we live," guitarist James Frost told icWales. "We all love music so we started out playing local gigs, recreation centres, clubs in Maesteg, then it grew."
Initially known as White Rabbit, they changed their name in February 2005 after 18 months together. A demo attracted the attention of Probation Management, an offshoot of Cardiff label FF Vinyl. "It was all tinny electro drums and then it exploded into this hook line of synths, guitars and drums," Probation's Martin Bowen told Sound Nation magazine.
B-Unique, home to Kaiser Chiefs and The Rakes, were among the labels sent the White Rabbit demo by Probation. According to James, "The label turned up at a Barfly gig and we signed there and then. The next week we went with them to Bristol to record a demo."
Being green around the gills didn't hold them back, and the band's debut album Not Accepted Anywhere was released in June 2006. The singles taken from it - Recover, Raoul and Monster - swiftly became indie anthems.
They were keen to avoid any comparisons with flash in the pan scene-hijackers. "Listen to it," said Rob. "It isn't like that. Come and see us live. We're more exciting than a lot of bands. You've got to have interesting songs." |

| Artist: The Bishops | Genre: Indie |
|
THE BISHOPS are a rock and roll band emanating from London. They are fronted by twins Mike Bishop (vocals, guitar) and Pete Bishop (vocals, bass) and completed by Scotsman Chris McConville (drums). From the dark damp cellars of their youth hostel abode, the band worked tirelessly towards creating their sound, studiously developing their gift for classic song craft. The result of these sessions was a collection of songs that are refreshingly striking and different.
The bands musical influences stem from a range of genres: but to list them isn't what it's about. Their sound does features an amalgamation of ideas but it's their reinterpretation of this sound that makes THE BISHOPS so thoroughly relevant, drawing upon a range of classic influences whilst still creating something new, original and exciting. |
